The ZESA National Training Centre (NTC), in a strategic collaboration with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and the Renewable Energy Association of Zimbabwe (REAZ), is inviting applications for its highly specialized Solar Design, Installation and Net Metering Systems Course. This intensive, two-week program is critical for professionals looking to capitalize on Zimbabwe’s rapidly expanding renewable energy sector and master the technical and regulatory aspects of grid-tied solar systems.
Starting on November 10, 2025, at the ZESA National Training Centre, the training is a direct response to the national shift towards sustainable power solutions and the promotion of Net Metering—a scheme that allows customers to feed excess solar power back to the national grid. This process helps customers reduce their electricity bills, ease national power constraints, and save on foreign currency for energy imports.
The comprehensive curriculum features a Modular Structure covering the full scope of solar design and installation, complemented by Daily Hands-On Learning in lab sessions. A major focus will be on the Policy and Framework governing net-metering systems in Zimbabwe, including the Operational Energy Landscape for creating legally compliant contracts and agreements.
