Established in 2016, Worstake Engineers Private Limited, trading as More Wear Manufacturing, was formed by ex-employees of More Wear Industries. These individuals saw a gap in the market for steel fabricated products in the Southern African Sub-continent, which arose after the closure of Gulliver Consolidated Limited group of companies. Fuel industry:

The steel fabrication company offers a variety of products and services related to the fuel industry, including fuel storage tanks, service station canopies, and service station installation up to commissioning. The company is capable of producing a wide range of products for this sector.

“More Wear Manufacturing has been meeting the needs of various clients by producing quality and reliable fuel storage tanks. The tanks come in a variety of sizes, from small ones for individual homes and businesses to large ones for mining, industrial and agricultural use. Additionally, they manufacture pressure vessels for applications such as air receivers, pressure vessels, storage vessels, and reactors,” said Edmore Gomera, the General Manager.

The tanks can be customized to the client’s specifications and the design process is handled internally by a team of specialist engineers who will take the project from initial design up to the final product.

Storage tanks of up to 1 million litres and beyond can be supplied to meet client requirements, and can be used for a range of liquid fuels, such as petrol, diesel, paraffin and ethanol as well as different types of oils.

Delivery times can vary depending on the size of the tank, with a 10,000-litre tank typically taking around 5 days. Clients include DA Motors, Thuli Petroleum, G-Fuels, Glow Petroleum, Energy Park, Invictus Energy (through their main contractor Exalo Zimbabwe), and others.

All raw materials used in the production of tanks are sourced from reputable certified steel suppliers. This guarantees the highest quality of the product and builds trust in the market. Thickness and material types are determined by design calculations in the manufacture of these tanks depending on uses in accordance with standards such as ASME, British Standards, SANS, SAZ and others.

Furthermore, customers are assured that all products come with a guarantee and are approved by independent inspection agency.

Quality and sales:

According to the General Manager, More Wear Manufacturing is a longstanding steel fabrication sector player, that prides itself in being a standout manufacturer. The company has set its products apart from those of its competitors by ensuring that they are of superior quality, delivered in a timely manner, and offered at fair and reasonable prices.

“More Wear Manufacturing provide after-sales service, including follow-ups with customers, both new and regular, to ensure that their products are performing as expected,” noted Darlington Mapanga, Sales Engineer.

Besides the energy sector, industries including engineering and construction, manufacturing, mining, agriculture, and local government authorities can all benefit from the services that More Wear provides.

Other product lines:

In addition to its trailer and tanker production, More Wear has branched out into contract engineering, offering the manufacture of modular steel water tanks, steel tanks and storage vessels, water and fuel bowsers, steel structures, stainless steel mixing tanks, mining equipment, large bore piping, air ducting and more.

The steel preparation and finishing shop, milling machine, centre lathe machines, rolling machines, and automated welding machines are all available for use in their facilities.

ISO Certification:

In 1998, More Wear attained ISO 9001 Certification, and was subsequently reaccredited to ISO9001: 2000 by TUV Rheinland of North America in April 2003. Africert (Pvt) Ltd then took over the certification process. The quality of More Wear’s products and services has been the foremost factor in the success of the company.

Thanks to the implementation of the ISO 9001 Quality System, the Quality Assurance Department has been able to ensure that the system is functioning optimally and that all tasks are being completed according to the laid down procedures. Their team has seen great benefits from this such as improved delivery, communication, product quality, and decreased customer complaints.

Historical brief:

In the 1960’s, the construction of heavy haul trailers provided the knowledge and expertise that was used, with the support of the railways, to begin the production of freight wagons and later, coaches.

To meet the demands of the mining industry in this country, More Wear increased their product range to include tippers, dumpers, and other material handling equipment. They also developed and distributed Granby cars and Coco pans for use in underground mining. To further satisfy the requirements of the sector, the company began manufacturing a variety of equipment tailored to fit the needs of the industry.

In the early 1970s, More Wear invested heavily in the growth of large and small-bore pipe manufacturing, the acquisition of a structural steel engineering firm, and the creation of a machine shop.

More Wear’s expertise in pressure vessel manufacture and its participation in Zimbabwe’s major industrial and infrastructural projects made it a leader in heavy engineering. With the independence of Zimbabwe in the 1980s, and the formation of organizations such as SADC and PTA, the business was able to expand into the export market with a wide range of products. With a long history of success and expertise in the steel fabrication industry, More Wear proudly looks to the future with confidence. The company utilizes the latest technology and highly skilled personnel to ensure the highest quality products, on-time delivery, and competitive pricing. Their dedication to excellence has positioned them as a leader in the Sub-Saharan sub-continent.
